Early Child Literacy from Be There Bedtime StoriesAs a former classroom teacher and current reading specialist, probably the most important thing I can do is find the key to unlock the love of reading for every child. That is not the same for every child so there is work to do in order to find that hook for each child.

If a child is read to at a young age they are much more likely to evolve into an independent reader. Every word a child reads on the page adds to their knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and writing skills. These provide a solid foundation for school success. It is reassuring to know there are organizations out there that are taking a variety of approaches to help pave the way for children’s academic success.

This series on the Be There Storyblogger will introduce you to our BFFs in Literacy.
